Tibetan Colony (Manju-ka-tilla)

Entering Manju-ka-tilla, a Tibetan colony north of Delhi, is like walking straight into Tibet.

Created in the '60s, the colony served as a refugee camp for civilians escaping the Tibetan uprising; during the which India had clearly sided with the Tibet and granted asylum to the Dalai Lama (the Chinese weren't very happy with that and two years later came the Sino-Indian War). Today, the second generation of refugees is living here, in a colony filled with vibrant colours, old temples, and photos of the Dalai Lama.

The people we met were incredibly nice and sweet.
